UNIT DESCRIPTION

This unit specifies the competencies required to produce annual crops, perennial crops, fruit crops and indigenous plants, conduct greenhouse management and other emerging technologies, produce vegetables crops, conduct floriculture crop production and dry land farming and manage crop health.

This unit describes competencies required by a learner in dicharging duties in delivery of information to fsrmers, identifying and appreciating the role of extension workers in Agricultural development, management and adminstration of extension services s well as the approaches and principles of extention.

This unit prepares learners to understand and appreciate the role of farm animals, breeding, nutrition and animal health.

This module unit is intended to impart knowledge and skills to the trainee in handling soils for maximizing and sustaining high yield in agricultural production.
